Ingredients

  • Butter
  • Fine bread crumbs
  • 4–5 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • Nutmeg
  • Sugar

Directions

  1. Butter a baking dish, and sprinkle with the breadcrumbs.
  2. Combine the apples, a little butter, nutmeg, and sugar in a saucepan. Cook until softened.
  3. Transfer the apples into the prepared dish.
  4. Top apples with another layer of the crumbs, then add pieces of fresh butter on the top.
  5. Bake in a slow oven for about 15 minutes, until it becomes a delicate brown.
  6. Serve hot or cold.
