Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups (280 g) white wheat flour
- 1 egg
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ cup (120 g) powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup (120 ml) oil
Directions
- Combine flour, egg, baking powder, powdered sugar, and vanilla to make a moist but not sticky dough.
- Flatten teaspoon-sized balls of dough on the back of a fork (preferably with rounded tines) and roll off, forming small snail-shell-like curls.
- Deep fry in hot oil (~350°F/180°C), six at a time, until golden brown.
- Roll in more powdered sugar while still hot to coat.
Notes
When deep frying, be careful not to splash hot oil on yourself.
